Delwin R. “Del” Lewis, 80 of Kalkaska, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012 at Kalkaska Memorial Health Center – LTC. Born on July 26, 1932 in Kalkaska, he is the son of the late Raymond and Emma (Oleson) Lewis.
Del was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War. He married Lucille Eubank on September 28, 1958 in Kalkaska. Del retired from Glen’s Market in Gaylord in 1990 as a Vice President. His hobbies included wood working, hunting and watching wildlife.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille of 53 years; his children, Heidi (Jeff) LaBar of Manistique, Tammy (Tim) Warren of Gaylord, Denise (Larry) Huston of West Bloomfield and Danny Lewis of Lewiston; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Betty (Bob) Dunham, Sam Lewis and Evelyn (Ron) Bishop all of Kalkaska; and brother-in-law, Ray Short.
Del was preceded in death by his sister, Dixie Short; and sister-in-law, Mary Lee Lewis.
Visiting time with the family will be held on Monday, August 6th from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at Wolfe-O’Neill Funeral Home.
