Eleanor V. Allen, 62, of Mancelona, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was born on July 5, 1950 in Detroit, the daughter of John and Edna (Graham) Powers.

Eleanor married Robert Allen on June 27, 1969 in Garden City. They moved to Mancelona in 1994. Eleanor was a member of Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church of Gaylord.

Surviving Eleanor is her husband, Robert of 43 years; her children, Patricia (Michael) Grant, Robert (Claire) Allen, Jr., all of Mancelona, and Mary Anne (Matthew) Moore of Rosamond, California; granddaughters, Rose Sarah Mary Allen, Victoria Patricia Sheila Allen and Lucy Veronica Allen; mother, Edna Powers of Traverse City; siblings, Beth Alpers of Traverse City, Patricia (Glen) Hensley of Michigan, Gail Powers-Schaub of Muskegon and Dona (Terry) Hudson of Summit City.

Preceding Eleanor in death is her father, John Powers.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, July 29th from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with the rosary at 7:00 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Gaylord. The Requiem Mass will be Monday at 11:00 am at the church. Father Daniel B. Ahern will be officiating. Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kalkaska.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Gregorian Masses, PO Box 5302, Saginaw, MI 48603.
